Most anti-corruption efforts focus on controlling and punishing individuals througha “war on corruption.””.
Islands of Integrity™ Methodology proposes a different approach: transforming the organizations that breed corruption through a therapeutic approach to sick institutions. applying a therapeutic approach to ailing institutions..
Inspired by the successful reform of La Paz, Bolivia, and developed through more than two decades of international practice, the methodology helps organizations diagnose vulnerabilities, redesign systems, strengthen accountability and rebuild trust from within.
The Islands of Integrity™ methodology received the UN Public Service Award in 2011 and has been successfully implemented by certified practitioners across 45 local public administrations and NGOs in 13 countries throughout Europe and Central Asia.
The methodology was also included in international training programs I conducted in collaboration with Ronald Maclean Abaroa, former Mayor of La Paz and Professor Robert Klitgaard, at:
- IACA – International Anti-Corruption Academy, Vienna
